I once had lunch with him in Seattle (back when I was a TV critic). He was a class act. Enjoy.

Sound like the premise for a TV series? Make that, sound like a premise for a good TV series? Yep, I agree, it's a dumb idea. What is it with TV producers and writers who like to flash back, flash forward or just plain flash? I give this one three to five weeks before it gets the hook.

The story of a politician (in this case Chris Noth aka Big) who goes to jail for some "dalliance" and the woman he leaves behind (the actress who played the real estate agent in The Sopranos). The online preview (see below) is less than inspiring. A made-for-TV movie, perhaps; a series: I think not. But then again, maybe the intent is to only air a few episodes before giving it an early axe.

Still unclear as to the goal of Hulu's ad campaign. If it's to reach those who don't know anything about the service, the ads do little to explain the value proposition. If it's to reinforce the brand for those who already know about the premium content site, then it's fun yet pointless fluff.

Somewhere I'd like a message such as "Hulu is an online service that allows you to watch your favorite shows in their entirety in high quality from you PC (or Mac)." I can hear the resounding "Really, I never know that" come from Middle America who doesn't know Hulu from Vudu. I did like the Denis Leary ad, but that's only because I like Denis Leary.

The reason is rathe rlame: my DVR cannot record more than two shows at a time during the same time slot and I rated "Ugly Bety" and Bravo's booby "Matchmaker" locked in.

Many of the other shows that were nuked, I actually never heard of let alone watched. "Without a Tarce," a staple for my early morning stationary bike viewing is a heartbreaker. The show was getting a bit thin and the plot where the father of Samantha's child, Sam and Jack emerging as a less-than-interesting love triangle, was an indication that the writers had lost their way.
